Malaysia is very different than Cambodia. We are living around the corner from 2 malls, a movie theater, Starbucks, Pizza Hut, and McDonalds!
We are working with a church on the same street as the flat we are staying at is located. The pastor is an ex-transgender who is now married with 2 kids. He and his wife run the church. Their focus is to reach out to the LGBT community, to rape victims, prostitutes, etc. by befriending them and loving on them. They also reach out to the deaf community. It's a really interesting church that is doing really cool things for the Kingdom! Our main focus is to help homeschool the Pastor's 2 kids, encourage the members, ATL (World Race word–Ask The Lord) around the city, helping with a special needs school, and we even got to put on a children's program at the pediatric hospital…until a contagious virus broke out on that floor and for our safety are not allowed to go anymore!
And without further ado…
I fly into the states on MAY 30th! Our squad flies from Beijing to Seattle and then I will fly (ALONE, weird) to Nashville! Here is a crazy fact: we leave China at 8:00am on May 30th and get to Seattle at 5:30am ON MAY 30th. Just doing some casual time traveling.
Jesus is already providing in really cool ways as I prepare to come back. I have some friends who are going to get me a new bed which is such an incredible blessing considering I don't have one! I will be moving into a new house in Nashville with 3 of my dearest friends. I plan on nannying atleast through the Summer and see where God leads after that! I am SO ecstatic to squeeze all my little babies again, although some aren't so baby anymore! Although it will be really hard to say goodbye to the squad and community I have been living so deeply with, I have an incredible amount of peace about going home.
I am still looking for a car. I am wanting to pay cash for a small car. My budget is not very much but I am trusting that Jesus will provide in a very specific way. Let me know if you know anyone who is selling one!
I cannot believe that I will be home in 38 days. We head to China in 9 days. We fly into Hong Kong and will be there for about a week waiting on visas to get into China! My team will be outside of Beijing helping with an organization that does foster care for special needs BABIES (!!!) while they await further medical care or are in process for being adopted. They also have many other branches of outreach so we could be doing lots of different things! Such a great way to end the Race!
