This is my life now and I wouldn’t change one bit of it for the world. So the past two days I have been with John Smith, from Imago Dei, and we have traveld all over Bohol. When I say all over it’s really not “all over” because riding in the back of a truck that is made for someone 5’5 with seats that are half the size of my butt, and unpaved roads just makes for a really long trip! John and I viewed the ministry yesterday, and today we seperated and went out to do our thing. International Care Ministries has set up courses to teach communities around the Bohol area about basic health and nutrition. After the class takes place there is a time for Bible study, with future plans to start churches in these areas where there are no churches.
* needed to use the bathroom but couldn’t figure out how to work it.
*broke down my pride and asked my team if they knew how to use it.
*had to leave, no time for bathroom
*drove forever
*made some home visits in a very poor community
*decided to use the bathroom for the second time.
*”practiced” the “flushing” method that my team told me about
*unsuccessful at bathroom flushing
*found out that is the amount of water you pour in to make it faster, not the height you pour it in. Extra height causes splashing of pee water on the feet. Good thing this was the practice run.
*decided to leave the bathroom, for fustration was setting in.
*ate lunch with the locals.
*prayed a lot that the look on my face would not show fear.
*actually enjoyed the whole fish I ate, however still not sure about the fish soup.
*took a siesta while watching the Grizzlies play the Lakers
*explained the world race to about 22 people in the class
*watched 10 people asking to take the next step into baptism
*gave my testimony to the group
*asked to pray for people who came up for healing
*thinking how ridiculous it is that I am literally in a jungle and Brittany Spears is playing in a hut.
*stopped at a snake shop on the way home and saw one of the world’s largest pythons.
*Wanted to know why I had to pay 90pesos for my laundry. That’s less than $2… my mind set is changing.
