So the biggest question people keep asking since I’ve been

back is this: What’s Next??

And to answer that I say CGA!!!

The Center for Global Action

In Jan I will be moving down to Gainesville, GA to be a part of The Center for Global Action(CGA). The CGA is a discipleship program designed and organized by Adventures in Missions(AIM), the same organization that organized The World Race.

The Center for Global Action (CGA) is a launching pad dedicated to the holistic development of participants during an intentional season of growth – each apprentice’s future, uniquely designed by God. We achieve this development through community, discipleship and apprenticeship

Community. Community is learned through experience and action. In the CGA, apprentices live in a community house with other participants, and learn how community is developed by doing community and serving together. Many foundational principles experienced on the World Race are put into practice as apprentices live out these lessons daily.

Apprenticeship. CGA apprentices serve from 9 am – 12:30 pm in their specified area of interest, earning hands-on experience in their field. Apprentices serve in a department that is the best match between their strengths and available positions at Adventures. While serving, they are able to experience what kingdom living looks like in a work setting while developing skills and standards of excellence and integrity in the workplace.

Discipleship. The goal of the CGA is to help apprentices discover their identity and call in the kingdom of God. Apprentices participate in courses led by facilitators and guest speakers from 1:30 pm – 5 pm. Apprentices are expected to put these lessons into application during their morning apprenticeship and community living. It’s through this tangible process that apprentices are developed spiritually, socially, and professionally.

Two things that I wanted to continue after I came home from The World Race was Community and Discipleship and the CGA will provide that for me. I will be mentored by others in the AIM organization who are older and wiser than I, learn biblical concepts and theology and learn how a mission organization works and facilitates missions all over the world.

Before going on the World Race I always thought I would work a 9-5 job and do a lot of ‘Christian work’ outside of that, volunteering at church, helping with youth etc. Now after traveling the world, doing all sorts of missions, seeing, loving and holding orphans and widows and truly living out the Great commission found in Matthew I cant imagine spending my life doing anything other than that! I feel the Lord is leading me to missions for my life’s work. However I do not know what that looks like yet, and that is something that the CGA will help me with. Through classes and mentorship I will be better able to discern what the Lord is leading me to for my life’s work, whether that is doing missions inside or outside the states or working with an organization whose dreams, vision and passions come alongside my own.
