To keep it short and sweet, I was introduced to the World Race about a year ago, on a random day when I was googling about mission trips. It popped up on my screen and ever since then I have been completely hooked. I was too young and had to wait five years to even have the chance to go on it, though I swore if the oppurtunity came up I would go. About two months ago the oppurtunity had arrived and here I am now, about to embark on a journey that I have no idea whats in store. Which excites me but also scares the bajebers out of me!

  • I am scared about how I am going to fund 12,000 dollars.
  • I am sad about having to leave my family for nine months.
  • I am terrified of what life will be like when I get home.
  • I am nervous about the experience and if I will hate it.

Constantly Satan likes to remind me of those feelings and fulfill my mind with endless reasons to not go. Though I don’t live for Satan, I serve Almighty Yaweh, who is going to watch over me, protect me, give me strength, and bless me in all areas. I do not have to worry because through my obedience in following his calling, he is going to be glorified and thats my sole purpose in life – to bring him honor and glory.

I have the Holy Spirit indwelling in me, who brought me to life and is going to continue to equip me in the next few seasons of life. God has made it clear that he not only has given me a desire to go on this trip but he is also opening all the doors for me to go on this trip. I just have to remember that I am going to be sanctified through this trip and bear fruit, if I am following Christ.

Matthew 28:19-20 “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always to the end of the age.”

Before Jesus ascended into heaven he left the disciples with this command. Jesus had declared that he has been given all authority on heaven and earth a little before that. So after he gives them a mission and command he also says he will be with them to the end of the age. So the most authoritive person that lived on Earth said he was going to be with them till the end of age. How much more reassuring and encouraging can you get! Then we see in Acts that the Lord uses those disciples to start the early church and advance the gospel tremoundesly. I’m reading a book now called “Twelve Ordinary Men” by John Macarthur that the Holy Spirit has used to really convict me and expound my knowledge, but their will be another blog post on that. Continually I’m reassured that Lord is going to use me in whatever way he pleases, I just have to be willing to be used.

Acts 20:24 “But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.”

When Paul is speaking to the Ephesian Elders he is just so humble and completely submits himself to the Lord’s will. I want to follow Christ like Paul who lived his life as a testimony to the gospel of grace, the gospel that brought peace into his life.
