Month 3 of The World Race brings about a lot of change. Teams are sometimes adjusted at this time of the race to help encourage more growth and new squad leaders are raised up. Up to this point, we’ve had two fantastic squad leaders that have both been recent race participants and have led this squad from training camp in October up until now. One of their final responsibilities as squad leaders is to raise up new leaders f
or the rest of the trip. They’ve prayed about it and have asked me to be one of the two leaders. My answer, of course, is “yes”!! That answer is going to mean a lot of things. The rest of the trip is going to be entirely different than the first three months. I have been taken off my team and will be doing a lot of traveling with Krissy Whaley (Seattle, WA), who is the female squad leader. We won’t be spending each month in one place but will likely be traveling from team to team in different parts of each country as the Spirit leads. While I won’t be on a team, I’ll still have many opportunities to join the teams I’m with at the time in the ministry that they’re doing. Every member of the squad will now be my team in a way.
It will be up to Krissy and I to lead them. We’ll need to know how every team is doing and how every person is doing. We’ll be completely relying on the Holy Spirit to guide us to which teams we need to be with that month and to show us how he wants to use us while we’re there. We’ll be encouraging, challenging, and ministering to everyone on the squad and letting the Spirit pour us out. I’m also praying that the Spirit would continue to speak a vision into me for what he is doing in this squad so I can always make sure I’m following his lead.
