It’s been a while since I have last blogged. A lot of time and a lot of events have gone by. It’s amazing how many things happen in a few short months. I got to hang out with kids in Guatemala City, showing them love. I then had to say goodbye to all my friends there. My host family who loved me and my team so well. The leaders of our ministry and the friends we made there. The kids that we built relationships with. We had to leave them all. Tough time, but God has something good planned for us and them even after we had to say bye.

We made it into Africa and spent time together as a squad. I was able to get to know other people that I am traveling with that aren’t on any of my teams. Get to really invest in those relationships. As well as we went to childrens’ villages and helped the women cook and just play with the kids and did some small construction work. It was a really fast month.

We’ve been in Lesotho for two weeks today. We made the drive into the capitol in about 14 hours. From there we took a small van 5 more hours into Mokhotlong. It is probably the most beautiful place I have ever been to. We are completely surrounded by mountains. The city is not too large. The biggest thing here is a Shop-Rite that had its grand opening the morning before we arrived. Praise the Lord for Coca-cola and Lays potato chips!

Our ministry here has been way different than I am used to, but it is amazing. Let me give you the daily schedule:

Monday: Two soup kitchens, where one of us gives a brief message from the Bible.
Construction of the local church’s orphanage in the afternoon

Tuesday: Construction all day. A few hours in the morning and a few in the afternoon

Wednesday: Prison Ministry in the morning
Minor church repairs in the afternoon

Thursday: Two soup kitchens
Construction in the afternoon

Friday: Construction in the morning
Maintenance at the mission house we live at
Youth group with the kids at the church

Saturday: Rest/adventure day!

Sunday: We are split into three groups and go to three different churches in the surrounding villages. One person gives a sermon and two give their testimonies

Every morning Monday through Friday, three of us go to the local clinic in the early morning ad give a brief word from scripture to encourage the patients and staff before their day starts.

The ministries that I have gotten to be a part of here are amazing. Last week on our first day of prison ministry, 13 men came to know Christ! This past Monday, a few of us went to the farther soup kitchen, which is about an hour drive through the mountains, and got the opportunity to pray with about 50 people one on one who had a hunger and a thirst for God’s healing power through prayer.

All in all, we have only been here or two weeks, but I am in love. I am in love with the people, the culture, what we’re doing too serve these people, and with how the Spirit is moving amongst these people! Thanks for reading! Please continue to pray for my squad and I while we are here. God is doing some amazing things in this place.
