hey. sorry this took so long. before the trip, i was having a few problems with my laptop but didnt have the time to get it fixed before i left. i was praying that it would hold up for the year. i didnt. it doesnt turn on anymore. because of that, blogging is going to be difficult from this point on (im typing this on my iphone). this will probably end up being more of a bullet list of things i think you would want to know, rather than a long descriptive blog.
our last few days in india were really great. we stayed at a hostel in hyderabad. we got to go see the dark knight rises, we got to eat at the hard rock cafe, and we had a really cool night of worship as a squad.
my teammate crosby decided not to continue the world race. there were many reasons behind her decision but we were still sad to see her leave. God simply has other plans for her.
nepal is the most beautiful place ive ever been. i didnt know very much about nepal but it has blown me away. our ministry location for the month is in kathmandu. im surrounded by mountains in every direction. the weather is perfect. it stays somewhere between 65-80 degrees.
we are staying at, and working with, an organization called "asha nepal". it is a home that finds and takes in women and children that have been in sex trafficking or prostitution. its a 5 year program. they are placed in school, taught life skills, told about Jesus, counseled, and most importantly, they are surrounded by people, for the first time in their lives, that they can trust. our team has taken on quite a few different tasks for the month. we are redoing their promo video, writing a new counseling manual (we have a psych major on the team), and tutoring some of the kids that have not been allowed in the school because they have HIV. we are living with the kids, so a lot of our ministry is just about building a relationship with them.
the month has been pretty good so far. not a ton of prayer requests. pray for health; ive been a bit sick the past few days. pray that God continues to pour out His love on these women and children. pray that God provides me with the money for a new computer; this was an unforeseen expense.
