Hey guys. I know that I didn’t do a very good job with the pre-race blogging, but I promise I am going to do a better job keeping everybody informed. Well, I am now officially on the race. I met up with my squad in Washington DC on Tuesday July 3rd. After a few days of training, we flew out of DC on Friday the 6th. Our first leg was a 12 hour and 25 minute flight to Doha, Qatar. From Doha, it was another 6-hour flight to Calcutta. From Calcutta we had a short flight to Hyderabad. When we finally landed in Hyderabad, we met up with our contact and boarded a bus for a 9-hour ride to the ministry base sight. I can’t be too specific about where exactly we are and what exactly we are doing but I will tell you what I can. For this month we will be in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Andhra Pradesh is one of 27 states that make up India. In Andhra Pradesh, there are 85 million people in 22,000 villages. During this month, my team of seven is going to be doing evangelism and church planting in 20 different villages. Your prayers are much needed. Pray for our team this month. It is very hot and very humid here and it was be easy to lose focus. Pray against that. Pray that we stay on task and don’t forget why we are here. Pray for the people in the villages that we are going to be meeting and ministering to. Pray that the Holy Spirit is going before us and preparing the heart of every person we encounter. Pray that we have eyes to see and ears to hear the presence and the voice of God around us.

Until next time…
