wounds that are deep inside someone´s soul. He can remind a girl that she is His beautiful daughter. He can tell the orphan that they ARE wanted and He is their Father.
Elvis lives here in LaQuinta. The other day I got the chance to hear a little of his story. At the age of 6, Elvis was riding a horse, fell off and was dragad for a long time. While he was in the hospital, the doctors told him that he would never be able to walk again; at best he would be in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. While he was in the hospital, his parents left him. He doesn´t know why or where they went, they just never came back for him. He ended up living in a children´s home called ¨Messiah¨. While there he decided that God is the best physician and kept trying to walk, putting trust in God that He would heal. Elvis began to walk and can now walk with only a slight limp. While living at Messiah, Elvis was treated badly by the workers. They would beat him and the others and lock them in their rooms without food. Through all this, Elvis continued to have faith in God. After living at Messiah for 12 years it was shut down and Elvis was moved to LaQuinta. He has friends who came with him from Messiah and pastors and adults who love him.

MY GOD IS SO BIG!!!
Doña Marina is a friend of a beautiful 78 year old woman, Palla. We have become friends with Palla and on one of our visits Doña Marina was at Palla´s house. Palla told us that Marina had terrible pain in her jaw and up her head and Palla had informed Marina that she was going to be healed that day. We began to pray for Marina and you could just feel the faith in the room. While we prayed, Marina began to cry and shake. We knew the Holy Spirit was working. After we were done praying Marina said she felt a hand rest on her head and move down the side of her face. As the hand moved, the pain went away.

Our beautiful, Palla!
Perla is one of the girls who lives here and also spent a good amount of time at Messiah. Perla grew up as the only sister to 9 brothers. Her dad constantly told her that he did not want a girl so she tried to be the boy he wanted. She would wear baggy pants and shirts to look like a boy. Even dressing as a boy, her brother´s friends would come over and want to have sex with her. With all this going on, she began to hate men. When Messiah shut down and she came to LaQuinta, she had arguments with one of the woman workers here. Juanita would tell her that she was a woman and needed to dress like one, but Perla insisted that dresses and skirts weren´t made for her. After being here for about 2 years, she now says she realizes that she is a princess; that God has made her a woman and that she is beautiful. She has forgiven her father and her dad is proud of what she is doing but is not proud of who she is. Perla talks about how God is her perfect Father and that He is SO proud of exactly who she is.
