I just wanted to let you all know that I am here at debrief in Nairobi, Kenya. As I told you in a previous blog, around month four, The World Race likes to switch up the teams. That is what happened this week at debrief.
I have been placed on a team with three former members of team Karis and three former members of team Judah. Our team leader is Braedon Tabor. Braedon along with Katie and Cindy all came from Karis. The former Judah members are John, Steph and Bekah.
I know that God has His hand in all of this. I do not doubt that I am on this team for a reason. I am excited for the change and the growth that God has for myself and my new team. I think in the past few days I have been learning why God placed me on this specific team with these people.
As you know, I was on an all women’s team before, so being on a team with men kind of stressed me out. God has definitely put me on a team with great men; men who He wants me to be vulnerable with and men who He has placed in my life to heal past wounds. When people find out that I am on a team with Braedon and John, they get really excited for me. All of the women on the squad have told me what genuine and loving brothers these two men are. I am beginning to see that for myself. The women on my team are so strong and full of wisdom. I am going to gain so much by being on a team with them and listening to what they have to pour into my life.
As hard as change is, I know it’s going to be okay. God has put me into a new stage in my life and of the Race. I can already tell that these next few months are going to be painful and hard, but the outcome is what really matters. God is going to put my entire team through the fire so that He can refine us into what HE wants us to be. It’s going to be hard…but it’s going to be good.
We head to Tanzania on February 1st for our first month of ministry together! Pray for our team that we can connect and become a family; that God will be the center and that trust will be formed.
Check out all of my new team members blogs and get to know them as well!
