The last few days we have spent our time in Kijabe, Kenya. It was a beautiful place, and unbelievably we were cold most of the time because the wind was so strong. Even when we were wearing long sleeve shirts we were getting sun burnt because it is so close to the equator.

Now, we are in Eldoret, Kenya. We traveled by bus on Friday afternoon. On the way to Eldoret we saw some amazing sights.  When we would look out our window we saw monkeys at one point and then zebras.  I really wish I could post the pictures for you, but the connection to the internet is too slow.  I will try to post them at some point.

We are working with the Latter Glory Church and staying with the Pastor of the church. Pastor William and his wife Pamela have taken us in as their own children. Pamela told us that since it is the Christmas season and we can’t be home, to just think of her as our mother. She said that we can climb into bed with her at night if we need to. Her and pastor William are two of the most sincere, kind hearted people. There are twenty of us staying here at their house, because we are working with two other teams this month, Karis and Judah.

We don’t know exactly what we are going to be doing. Some things that have been thrown out to us is working on a radio show, pastoral training, passing out lunches to street kids and community outreach.

I have already spent some time with the street kids outside of Pastor Williams house. One of the little girls is named Jennifer. She is the cutest child ever! Tonight I was holding her and rocking her back and forth. She eventually fell asleep in my arms and I loved it! I loved holding her while she slept. Since being on the Race I have missed my family so much. So, holding Jennifer tonight brought my life in the US and my life on the Race together. While I was holding Jennifer I kept thinking about my sister and my nephew. It was great that I knew I could remember her name since that is my sisters name and it was awesome snuggling with a little baby again.

I’ll keep you updated on Eldoret as it happens! Love you all!
