Jubilee
This month we have had the privelage to work with women at Jubilee. About thrity women all live together in community and share simular life stories. These woman were kicked out of the state orphanage for being eighteen or older. They they had to survive on the streets, fighting off men, fighting for food, and fighting to stay alive. A couple named Ron and Sue one day picked up the women off the street and brought them to Jubilee. Ron and Sue have since passed away but their home continues to be a home for these woman who were left behind and forgotten.
We have spent much time with these women as they have allowed us into their lives for this short time. Through Bible studies, walks, making bracelets, singing, and doing odd jobs we were able to build relationships with the women in their day to day lives. It has not been the easiest ministry due to the women being used to people coming and going in and out of their lives. Through the Lords grace many of the women opened up their home and hearts to us as we continued to pursue them daily.
Some of the woman function at a normal level whereas some of the women are mentally handicaped and are unable to function by themselves. Some of the women dream of having their own homes and family yet others desire to never leave Jubilee. Thankfully God meets each person where they are at and that is where we met them.
