Discouragement and tiredness can fester into cancer of your mind, body and soul.
My team and I stepped into Malaysia with our hearts and minds ready for ministry and everything that came with it. What we didn’t expect? Sickness and exhaustion to take over. I know it’s month 10 and this should be something to expect. But it hit our team hard.
How do you counter something like this? The battle of the mind is something I can never seem to conquer. You can do things physically despite the pain, but when it comes to mental exhaustion, I know I have trouble pushing through.
Ministry really hasn’t been that taxing this month. If anything, it has been more of a break than we are used to. But I do believe that God is using this time period to mold and shape our team. Several of my teammates have been battling a physical sickness that won’t seem to leave. The rest of us? Dealing with this mind battle.
We are all looking forward to home and what the means for each of us. Entering back into ‘real life’ and finding out if it’s really all that awesome. From this side of things, home sounds comfortable and exciting. We shall see if it’s all it seems sooner than later.
Be in prayer for our team as we push through this battle. Pray that Jesus would be our strength and that we would lean on each other as a community. Pray that we would give a hundred percent each day in ministry.
Malaysia is a place of darkness. So pray that we would be the light.
