If there is one essential item that I need on the World Race, it's a backpack. But not just any backpack…the PERFECT one. I feel like it has to be just the right size, have the right number of pockets, maybe even be a certain color. Is that too much to ask?!? For those of you who may be slightly confused with my obsession with a backpack, maybe this will clear things up. A backpack is all that I can have to carry my belongings in for 11 months. No rolling luggages and suitcases. Just one sturdy backpack. This needs to be something I can depend on. For other World Racers, you probably know exactly what I mean.

I feel like I've been searching the world for my soulmate and coming up dry. No matter how many hiking/outdoorsy websites I visit, I can't seem to find that perfect one! Not to mention one that doesn't cost close to a million dollars. I can relate this hunt to a family shopping for the perfect car. It has to be able to fit all family members comfortably. The backpack has to fit all my essential belongings comfortably. A family car also has to be safe and dependable. My backpack should fit me well enough that I'm not breaking my back while carrying it. It also has to be dependable enough to endure the wear and tear of travel.

So this is my cry for help from former racers, current racers, or even just crazy backpack fanatics. I'm sure everyone has many opinions on what backpack works best, but here's my idea and proposition for you….

If you are the proud owner of a dependable, well-loved, and still working hiking backpack, would you consider selling it to me?

The crazy idea came to me that there are many people out there with hiking backpacks that are still ready to take on the world. I like the idea of owning a backpack that worked well for someone else. If it worked well for you, why wouldn't it work well for another racer? I understand for former world racers that this backpack may be a huge part of your racing memorabilia, and quite hard to part with. But maybe, just maybe the investment you would make by passing on your backpack on would leave an even bigger legacy.

Would you seriously consider this? Then I can finally put my backpack hunting to rest.

Any feedback would be appreciated.
