I had a revelation a bit ago… that I’m 23 years old. Like I don’t even remember this happening. Someone asked me how old I was and I responded 22. Like so surely, confidently even, that I was 22. I was quickly corrected by my mother that I was in fact 23 years old, and I’m not even kidding you; I was shocked.

So – here we go.

  1. I’m not 22 years old anymore.
  2. I don’t like tape. Okay that is an understatement. I DESPISE tape; hate it. I’m afraid of it I suppose. The sound it makes when you pull it off the roll, the sound it makes when coming off your skin; the feeling it has, ugh, no no no, I’m shivering right now just thinking about it. It makes me cry. No Bueno. Stay away.
  3. I’m terrified of clowns. Terrified.
  4. I LOVE hugs. I have names for every type of hug out there; [I did a project on them once]. Don’t you ever tap out of my hug (you know that thing where you’re uncomfortable or something and you like pat the persons back… yeah… not cool; no tapping out). Hugs solve so many things. 30 second legit hugs relieve stress. Trust me; I proved it in my project. It was legit. I kept the research in case you need to see it. They’re just great. When in doubt, just hug it out.
  5. Penguins are my favorite animal; they mate for life you know.  I hugged one once. I cried. Like a baby.
  6. I have the soul of an 80 year old grandfather.
  7. I’m loud.
  8. I close one of my eyes when I laugh super hard. It’s strange.
  9. Sometimes I forget to swallow and I will just drool… out of excitement.
  10. I’ve shaved my head before; I want to do it again. So badly.
  11. I tore my knee up playing soccer.
  12. I love to play monopoly; but no one likes playing it with me because I always want to finish the whole game.
  13. I’ve never seen starwars
  14. Orrrr Lord of the Rings.
  15. Peter pan is my favorite movie.
  16. I smoke a pipe.
  17. I love cosby sweaters. I have like a bajillion.
  18. I have really weird sayings/phrases that I’ve adopted into my vocabulary. Things like “holy Helga”, “sweet nancy”, “peter cottontail”, “peters cotton socks”, etc.
  19. I love cabins with big porches. My dream house is a cabin with a porch and a rocking chair on the porch that I can sit in.
  20. I LOVE dogs. I want to have all of them. I want all the dogs. I imagine future me will have a soccer mom van and I’ll pull up at the park and get out to open the door and instead of 12 kids piling out I’ll open the side door and dog after dog after dog after dog will fly out of the van. This thought makes my heart smile so big it’s unreal.
  21. I enjoy doing math for fun.
  22. Steak is my favorite food.
  23. I’m a power ranger. No joke. Really. I am. I promise.

So I guess I’m not that weird. I’m just that person sitting on the porch of my cabin in a rocking chair, wearing a sweater, smoking a pipe, doing math puzzles, while surrounded by dogs, waiting for you to arrive so I can hug the heck out of you! See. Perfectly normal.
