So I have a really hard time coming to grips (and actually believing) that I have TWO WEEKS left on the race. TWO WEEKS. it’s so surreal.
But I want to (briefly) describe our time here in Kampong Cham, Cambodia.
We have been teaching English every day at a private school during the week and on the weekends visiting different parts of Kampong Cham.
It. is. so. hot.
BUT I am extremely thankful because we have fans (and electricity) in the place we are staying and we have showers. So. The heat could be much worse. But I have come to love teaching English. I mean the students that come to the school are eager to learn more English and they are so precious. Most of the students I teach are probably not too much younger than I am. Each of us, on Phoenix, teach different subjects at different times throughout the day and between my entire team we have taught on a variety of subjects. However, I think the common lesson in each class is teaching them how to pronounce words like “three, thirteen, thirty-three, thank-you, shoes, six, sixteen, lunch, etc…” words that have the “th” sound, the “ch” sound, the “sh” sound, and the occasional “x” sound as in “six.” But they learn so well. And it is so much fun to teach them!
Another thing we have been dealing with this month is our team. Team Phoenix. I am going to miss them in two weeks. I think it was at our first church service here and Tim spoke and as he was speaking he said “this is the last time I will introduce this team to a new church” and well. We all started to cry. Even randomly if I really start to think about it I’ll cry. But I do hold on to the fact that God IS calling us home and the next step in this journey is also going to be amazing! (And we will have reunions..) So. Phoenix. I flipping love you.
With that being said I want to throw in some pictures…because I haven’t done that in a while…. So here are some pictures of our time here in Cambodia.
