To think that I spent my 21st birthday in Kenya last year is incredible…To think that today I am 22 pumps me up!… To think that I will be spending my 23rd birthday in another country next year is rocking my world!
5 years ago if you had asked me where I would be when I was 22, I would have said, “That’s easy! I will be graduating college and looking for a job as a teacher. Hopefully, engaged and ready to settle down.” Easy. Now, I am 22. I have 1 year of college under my belt; I am single. However, I have been to Africa 3 times. I have loved people beyond my most imaginative dreams. I have served the Lord fervently. I have learned things that can never be taught in a classroom. When I leave in September, I will continue to love, serve, and learn.
The World Race is an opportunity that most 22 year olds will never experience. I am not most 22 year olds. At 22 I will have loved orphans. I will have spoken truth. I will have given hope. I will have inspired. I will have rendered aide. I will have lead lives to salvation.
I am not most 22 year olds.
