Child Voice International finds it’s home in Lukodi, Uganda and so do I for the rest of the month. On Tuesday we arrived in Lukodi at around 2pm, our bus ride was thankfully a lot shorter than expected. I was one of the people who went grocery shopping before heading over to home base. It was pretty stressful trying to figure out what we would need to buy for the next few days, considering that we would be cooking over a fire, but we managed to do a pretty good job. As it turns out we won’t be doing the cooking anymore which is good because now we will have a lot more time for ministry, since cooking is a full time job when you’re doing it for 14 people over a fire. The main thing we will be fillinig our bellies with this month is rice and beans, beans which were grown here on their farm, which is actually quite delicious but check back with me in a couple weeks.
The past few days we’ve just been watching to see how things are run and have been joining in here and there, trying to figure out a schedule. We have lots of ministry options this month which is great but overwhelming all at the same time. Once we get into the swing of things I’m sure it will be wonderful.
Here are the options we have for this month:
Holding and entertaining kids and babies that will pee on you.
Farming.
Office work.
Speaking at Chapel.
Helping with the Baking class.
Joining in on the saloon class (getting hair done or learning how to do it).
Watching the tailoring class.
Working at the clinic.
Making beads.
Doing a bible study for the bead women.
Preaching at church.
Helping out in the kindergarten class-teaching the lesson.
Organizing and teaching the girls games in the afternoons.
Planning a fall festival.
Organizing movie and girls nights.
The options are endless! We definitely won’t be bored this month! I’m really excited to see what God has in store for us this month. Please continue to keep us in your prayers!
