Yesterday a few of our contacts took us to Lake Victoria. What a day! 18 of us packed into a little bus that was made for 14- which would be a tight squeeze in its self. It was a hot bumpy hour and a half ride to the Lake but worth every minute. On the way to the lake we stopped at the river were boats were taking people and their belongings, including bikes, back and forth.
The lake was huge and we got the opportunity to hang out at 2 different parts of it. At the first part of the lake we went in a boat ride around a little island where there were supposed to be hippos. We saw some cool birds but were dissapointed not to see any hippos, the boat ride was fun despite that. At the second part of the lake some of our group helped pull in a huge fishing net that someone had cast way out in the midle of the lake. Kids were everywhere just wanting to be near us and have their pictures taken.
Between the village and the sandy beach there was a little covered area with huge slab tables with Ginormous fish with glowing red eyes strewn all over them.

On the way home we stopped at a little store and got some cold soda’s, I had orange fanta.. mmm 🙂 We relieved ourselves in a little structure with a hole in the cement ground which was inconveniently placed closer to one side rather than the middle. We squeezed back into the bus and relaxed as much as we could while making sure we didn’t smack our heads on the ridiculously low roof.
What a day, oh what a glorious day!
