This morning my team and I got up early to spend some time worshipping the one who made this journey possible. My soul has been desiring that deep connection with Him. His presence was all around us as we glorified His name.  It was peaceful and renewing. How often do we take the time out of our busy lives just to meditate on everything that God is?
We spent about an hour singing and praying, drawing us closer to each other and closer to our heavenly Father. The lyrics of the song Meditate, by one of my favorite bands Out of Eden  danced in my head and I want to share some of them with you:
Just sit back and meditate,
On your goodness, your mercy, your grace
Right now I want to just sit back and think how great,
Your love that will never change
I know Im gonna just sit back and meditate,
You have given me all that I need and there is no way,
No one compares to you
No way no one compares to you to me
The lyrics are such a sweet reminder of how we can worship and praise our Father just by meditating on His greatness. Meditate on everything that He has given us. How much of our daily lives do we actually devote to just resting in Him, hearts full of adoration? He deserves to be adored, to be honored, to be praised.
This afternoon I had a few precious hours on my own in a coffee shop where I sipped on a chai tea latte and ate a delicious blueberry muffin. I hadn’t realized just how much I needed to go out and be alone until yesterday when the thought popped into my head. I craved it. It was the first time I’ve been out on my own in 3 months! An entire day to myself would have been bliss but I  appreciated so much, even the couple hours I had. I listened to Meditate on my walk home letting the words sink into my soul. I sang along thanking God for His goodness. The sky was sunny with a few small cloud formations lining my way and a blanket of clouds trailing behind me. Sunlight in my face, raindrops began to fall as I sang these words:
My tower in times of refuge, my source of life and peace
Your love it falls like raindrops and never seems to cease
Youre the god of all creation; youre the lover of my soul
Given me the air that I breathe
Today I had the chance to spend the day marveling in God’s mystery and wonder. I had the chance to sing His praises and experience a tiny corner of His amazing love. Just sit back and meditate. What’s stopping you?
