This place… Words don’t express the amount of happiness and joy I have in my heart to be back here… I’m not in the same place as last time, but just to be back in this country overwhelms my heart!! I love it. Time decided to finally slow down this month, and I’m SO glad we were in Colombia for that. I have loved having the time to just soak everything up without feeling like my life was flashing before my eyes!

So, in case you hadn’t heard, we’re living our month on an island in the Caribbean!! πŸ™‚ How does that even happen? We get to go to the beach in our free time, and swim in the most beautiful water I have ever seen–you can see all the fish swimming around you! It’s AMAZING. AND, Colombia has the best coffee in the world–so frequent coffee breaks are a must.

We are actually working with a ministry in Medellin–back on the mainland of Colombia. They sent us out to the island as a pioneer team to see what type of possible future ministry opportunities would be available for them on the island. While we’re here, we are partnering with 2 churches. All of ministry has been youth focused–it’s been awesome! I love both of the youth groups we work with. I’ve shared a message twice since being here–and I kinda like it!! πŸ™‚ It’s not as scary as it once was, and I enjoy sharing about what the Lord is doing in my life. So, we worked with one church the first week, we are currently working with the second church, and then we will be working with both–beginning on Thursday. Our first week, we spent time building relationships with the youth, sharing a message, leading an evangelism workshop, going out with a group from the church to evangilize… It was a really great first week! Our second week started this past Thursday… We have shared a message at 2 street outreach functions, had a workshop with ideas of how to reach youth, led the youth Sunday School… We will finish out our week with VBS on Tuesday and Wednesday. We have no idea what our last week holds, but I’m looking forward to it!! πŸ™‚

Fun fact: So, this month we were very limited on what we were able to bring with us from Medellin to the island.. So, all 6 of us had to fit everything into TWO of our big packs, and then we each have our normal daypack.. Soooo, everything we own is back on the mainland, except for the stuff we normally have in our daypack and a few changes of clothing. So, yeah–we don’t even get to live out of a backpack this month! πŸ˜‰ BUT check it out!! We got here, not sure where we would be living.. A lady at one of the churches allowed us to live in an apartment that she owns, and another lady cooks for us everyday! God has blessed us in such huge ways! We get here not knowing where we will lie down that night, and He gives us a “mansion” to live in for the month.. It’s crazy to see how He works and what He wants to use to bless us.. <3

I’m loving my beautiful Colombia more and more, each day. I’m not ever going to want to leave this place..haha Maybe, just maybe, I’ll be back again one day. <3

But I’m not gone yet–I’m going to soak up all I can these last 10 days.

With love,
Ash
