So, I’m sitting here halfway through January, and I’m wondering where time has gone! At the same time, it feels like it has been forever since we got here!
El Salvador is BEAUTIFUL! A country full of mountains and volcanoes, that touches the Pacific Ocean. I can see God’s beauty all around here. The temperature stays in the 90’s during the day and drops to the 60’s & 70’s at night. We’re like a 5 minute walk, if that, from the beach…so we really enjoy getting to soak in the beauty of the sunsets!! I’ll never get tired of watching them.
So, ministry. What does that look like this month?
Ministry is great!! With the exception of this coming week, our off days will be Sundays. Mondays are our weekly planning days–we plan a basic outline of the week & schedule extra opportunities that arise for that week. Tuesdays and Thursdays are our gardening/maintenance days, as well as our discipleship preparation days. Wednesdays and Fridays are our discipleship days with the teenage girls at the orphanage. Saturdays are church days–we help set up for service; 4 of us work in the kids’ classes while 4 of us stay in the service (we will switch up each Saturday so all of us have a chance to go to the service).
That’s the general layout of the month, but as you’ll see in my upcoming blog, about this week specifically, things change! 🙂
