In my earlier post “Be careful what you ask for” http://ashleymiller.theworldrace.org/?filename=be-careful-what-you-ask-for I explained further about how I have seen and felt God working in my life to make this decision about going on the World Race. It has been truly amazing the support and love I have felt over the last week after announcing my decision. Thank you everyone who has reached out and supported me thus far. It means more than you know.
I came across this video today and it got me more excited about embarking on this journey. In the video there was this quote, ” Often, we forget about the people in jail, the people in the hospital, the sick people, the older people. And the reason that I am here now is to show these people what God can do.”
Not only do I feel privileged to have the opportunity to show God’s love to people around the world but I have found through my work over the years as a social worker how much I gain out of being of service to others. If you feel called to partner with me on this journey there are a number of ways to make this possible. First, I would ask that you pray for my teammates and I. This is not going to be an easy 11 months being pulled completely torn out of our comfort zones. Secondly, I am asking you to consider partnering with me financially. In order to leave fully funded, I need to raise $16,267. This money will be used to cover the cost of travel, food, and board over the course of the year. Whether you can give a one-time donation, or commit to being a monthly donor, anything at all is truly appreciated. You can support me financially online or by writing a check.
