Laos is a closed country. That means we aren’t allowed to openly share Jesus. The government taps phone calls, if you’re heard talking about it in public you might get kicked out of the country if you’re a foreigner, or put in jail if you’re a local. My team didn’t have a contact this month so our job was to find organizations that might want to have future World Race teams in the city of Luang Pragang. It was harder than other countries because no one really comes out and says they are Christian. We found a hostel for the month that seemed pretty popular among backpackers and really tried to show the love of Christ to them. Several times a week we would teach English to students who want to practice more than just in school. Through teaching English we were able to meet a lot of local people and actually share about our faith while listening to what they believe. We visited a Hmong village with a friend we met and his family cooked us a very nice meal, killing their 2 year old duck for us, we were even able to attend a Christian church, what a blessing!
