Less than one week left to get in as many memories as I can before I head to the Dominican Republic for my last week before launch. It hasn’t sunk in yet.
I spent Tuesday night with some of my most favorite people. People who have watched me grow. People who know where I come from, who are the village that helped raise me. Without them I would have undoubtedly turned out to be completely different.
As I sat around the fire soaking in sounds of laughter along with stories of the past and present, I couldn’t help but take mental snap shots. Through the years we’ve become older, we might be in different stages of life but when we get together, a sense of “home” comes over me. I’m comfortable, I’m at peace, and I’m happy.
These are the people who will worry about me, pray for me, follow my journey, and eventually welcome me home. These people are my family. I wish I could tell each and every one of them how much they mean to me, just thinking about the words I would say brings tears to my eyes. Words aren’t enough to express my gratefulness to their impact on my life.
He’s my pastor, my teacher, they’re my 2nd parents, camping buddies, a constant, they get excited with me, they’re prayer warriors, worship leaders, fantastic bakers, a source of humor when you might not feel like laughing, but most of all they get me.
If you’re reading this and you weren’t there that night, please know it doesn’t mean I don’t have lovely words for you…this is for every single person who has known me for longer than 25 years. I love you all and I know I wouldn’t be where I am today with out you. Thank you for the impact you’ve made on my life and for still making an impact on my life.
In each blog I post from now on I will give you an opportunity to bless someone financially on my squad since you’ve been so good at blessing me. There are many people who still haven’t met the deadline to launch. I can not imagine doing the race with out each and every single person on Dauntless. If you’ve been waiting to support me and lost your chance, please consider supporting one of my brothers or sisters.
Today: Ashley Zablocki is funded to launch! But Debbie Bein is still $3064 away. Click her name and you’ll be taken to her blog where you can learn more about her and support her.
