I’ve started this blog about 5 times today. The window for it has been open on my computer for about 1 hour. I am speechless. I have no words. I’m blown away. I am overwhelmed. I’m blessed. That’s the word. Blessed. No, that makes it sound like people who haven’t finished fundraising aren’t blessed. They are certainly blessed, and they’ll tell you that. I’m doing what God wants me to do. There we go. If I had any doubt about following the Spirits lead…it is no more. I know with out a shadow of a doubt that this is where God wants me. He is going to teach me big things. It’s not about the people I’ll see, the people I’ll touch, the people I’ll heal, the people on my team, or the people I over look. It’s about me. The Spirit wants to speak to me, he wants me to get to know his voice, to learn his gentle touch, his calming presence.
At training camp they taught us to listen to the Holy Spirit. I kind of made a joke one night about how I didn’t know his voice. I wish he had an accent so I could tell the difference between his words and my thoughts. Sometimes I think my thoughts are loud and if He could just speak to me in a voice I didn’t recognize it would be easier. Sadly, that joke was reality. I’m sad to say that I don’t know His voice but I’m excited to hone in on it over the next year, starting today and every day. When was the last time you asked the Spirit to speak to you? Did He ask you to stop and strike up a conversation with a stranger but your head was too loud with your own thoughts? Do you have any Holy Spirit stories? Where you listened? Or maybe you didn’t listen at the time but He kept asking and you finally went for it? I’d love to hear your stories, post a comment or email me!
I also wanted to update you on my baked potato bar fundraiser and bake sale. You guys! I was able to raise over $3,500. Again, I am speechless. When I tell people all I can do is smile…our God is amazing!
This post is a jumbled mess, I told myself when I started that I wouldn’t delete any lines or thoughts…you get the raw emotion.
I love you all!
In each blog I post from now on I will give you an opportunity to bless someone financially on my squad since you’ve been so good at blessing me. There are many people who still haven’t met the deadline to launch. I can not imagine doing the race with out each and every single person on Dauntless. If you’ve been waiting to support me and lost your chance, please consider supporting one of my brothers or sisters.
