I’ve never excelled in languages. Grammar. speeling and learning foreign language was never high on my top areas of academics. As a result attempting to master a new language every month has been quite a challenge as I travel from country to country. On my first day in London I went for a run. I had got some what turned around and I couldn’t find my way back to our flat. I ran for about twenty minutes before it dawned on me. I was in an English speaking country. I could just trot myself up to somebody, anybody and asked for directions! So, thats exactly what I did. A elderly British man dressed in a black coat walking his dog strolled by me. “Excuse me, Sir. Do you know how to get back to Broadmore Street?” As he pointed down the street, he instructed me that I need to go fifty paces past the sqiggley bridge. “Thanks.” Even though I thought his word choice was odd, I thought Lord thank you for a month with no language barrier. Boy was I wrong. After spending time in London I quickly came to realize that the British have a whole different way of speaking. So, I just wanted to take a moment to do a crash course on speaking British.
