I have always had some kind of unhealthy obsession with
flying. Right before the plane is about to take off, I get a rush of about
1,000 different emotions that somehow combine to form a peaceful high. When I
am actually in the air (just about the same time the “fasten seatbelts” sign
turns off) I cannot take my eyes off the sky. Landing is the only part I
absolutely hate. But, after being on five planes in two days, I would say I am
getting a little more used to the idea of a plane landing safely and have had
my fix for at least the next couple months.

Here is just a brief overview of what my flight itinerary
has looked like for the past two days…
Wednesday:
- Left
our hostel in La Paz, Bolivia at 2:30am so we could arrive at the airport
around 3am-ish. - Took a
1.5 hour flight from La Paz to Santa Cruz, Bolivia. - Took a
6-ish hour flight from Santa Cruz, Bolivia to Miami, Florida. - Took a
3ish hour flight from Miami to New York City - 15 Hour Layover in the J.F.K
Airport!!!
Thursday
- Took a
9.5 hour flight from New York City to Istanbul, Turkey - Final
flight from
Istanbul to Tirana, Albania…1.5 hours.

So 5 planes, 36ish hours (plus other layovers) and a couple
busses later….we finally arrived in our new home in Tirana, Albania!

And if you were still wondering how I can get such a high off flights, it’s because I get shots like the ones posted in this blog… (my favorite one is at the top)
