I.love.dreams. Whether they are nightmares or a sequence of pleasant images, I always look forward to dreaming before I fall asleep. For a while now, I’ve wanted to keep a notebook by my bed so I could record things as I woke up. (it’s rare that I ever sleep through the night unless I take something) But, I would either not remember to put a notebook by my bed, or more likely, my nightstand would be too full of stuff. Since I currently have one pack, a daypack and an extra bag, I have plenty of room for a notebook to record my dreams.

The other night, I had a bizarre dream. It was about one of my friends who are currently pregnant. In my dream, she was already 9 months pregnant. All I remember is that we were sitting on the grass talking to each other then all of a sudden, she started to give birth! For those of you that know me, babies in general freak me out! While they can be adorable at times, I get all shaky and freaked out if I am ever left alone with a baby, even if it is one I have been around for awhile. So the fact that I dreamt this was startling in itself. But, the weirdest part of this storyline was that the baby was coming from her heart! Normally, I appreciate vivid and life-like dreams but thank God this one wasn’t vivid! The other weird part of my dream was that the “newborn” looked exactly like a little boy we have been staying with, Matti. I would guess that Matti is somewhere between the ages of 2 and 3 and has completely dark features. My friend has blonde hair and greenish blue eyes so that didn’t really make sense either.

When I woke up, I wrote down a few of the thoughts I had in my head but most were somewhat to the effect of “I do not want to continue this dream!” The next morning, I told everyone on my team my dream and explained that I had ABSOLUTELY no idea why that dream came to me.

Later in the day, a couple of us went for a walk down to the construction site so Lauren could get her water bottle. Like I have said before, we practically work in the middle of a couple farms so as we were walking past the first farm, I glanced over to this cow that was standing by the fence. As I looked closer, I saw a HUGE black mess coming out of her butt! At first, I looked away because I thought she was just pooping but then I looked back and she definitely WAS HAVING A BABY! I grabbed my teammates and told them what I saw. I stood there beside my team watching this disgustingly beautiful event. Even though I have grown up with farms surrounding my house, I have NEVER witnessed any animal giving birth in my life…I might stop eating cows now…jk!

About 20 minutes later, we were standing beside two cows. Well, more like one large cow and one black ball with a head and legs. We got to see it open its eyes for the first time and take its first breath of oxygen. We also got to see some VERY brave, practically crazy woman, come up to the calf, take out her hairpin, and pop the sac around the calf….DISGUSTING! I don’t even think she washed it…the freakiest part though…the cow’s name was Matti…weird huh?? Too bad the calf didn’t come from the cow’s heart because then I might be able to see visions!
