6:30am: Quiet time with Jesus.
7:30am: Breakfast–tea/coffee, bread and butter, occasionally hard-boiled eggs.
8:00am: Nursery. We worked at a preschool run by the church we were working
for. Here we spent an hour singing songs and doing exercises for their “PE
time”.
From 9-10, we split into groups of 3 and taught the different age groups. My
teammate and I taught the youngest group age 3 and 4. I wish i could say this
was an amazing time but it mostly consisted of breaking up the fights that
ensued between the children and trying to keep their 3-year old minds focused
on learning “A-B-C” and “1-2-3”.
10am: home for some rest, team bible study.
12:30: Lunch–rice, pasta, meat, green beans/carrots, and soup
1:00pm: Team time–hanging out with team! And then hanging out with all the
sweet children in the house we lived in.
4:00pm: tea time
5:00pm: Door-to-door evangelism. We would go out to different homes and pray
for people, share word of encouragement and just build relationships with the
Rwandan people and hear their stories, and share with them God’s love.
6-8pm: church! We usually had an
hour or so of just dancing, singing, and praising Jesus. These people are
passionate about giving thanks and praise to God. They worship so freely; wish
I had a video to show you of their singing and dancing….it’s phenomenal!!! We
would also have a chance to share a message with them as well.
8:30pm: Dinner–same food as lunch.
9:00pm: occasionally hangout and watch a movie or hangout as a team, or with
the family we lived with.
10pm: bedtime.
