Oh India… what to say about you…
To sum up what the month in India was like is a simple and
stunning: “WOW! Complete with wide eyes and mouth hanging open. Seriously.
Here, I’ll try to give you a glimpse into what happened in India, what ministry
was like, etc. but know that it’s absolutely perfectly ok to message me and I
can give you more details…it’s really just that amazing.
In the month prior, in Nepal, I had been praying and asking
God if I could witness Him do a miracle. I felt Him say “wait. And entering
into India, I had that feeling that God was going to choose this month in India
to completely blow me away by something as crazy as seeing a miracle happen before
my eyes.
Well, that’s what God
did.
Except to greater
extremes.
See, in India, our ministry was to go to villages of
anywhere from 15 to 150 homes and walk with their pastor from home to home and
pray for them and share the Gospel. Then after that, in the evening, hold a
gathering where everyone could come to fellowship and worship together.
EVERY DAY God blew us away by HIS power and just how Mighty
and Majestic He truly is. Here are a few stories of what we saw and got the
honor to be a part of:
one of my favorites:
*After a long afternoon of battling
sickness and exhaustion within the team as we walked from house to house
praying, it soon had become evening and the streets were lit only by the scarce
lighting from houses and a cellphone light guiding our feet along a path to
each house. We approached a house with a group of women standing in a crowd. We
learned that one of the women was deaf and mute.
This woman joined us as we prayed
for her—she couldn’t speak or hear our prayers but she tears streamed down her
eyes as her hands were reaching desperately up to the sky as if she was
pleading, crying out to God, hungry and eager for God to heal her. She wanted desperately to be healed, to
experience more of God—it was written all over her face. As our translator
asked her if she could hear him, her eyes were wide-eyed as she put her hands
to her ears in amazement. She tried to speak out but she couldn’t. We cried out
again to God with this woman. God healed
her. She soon started to speak out words she was hearing and even sang
along to the tune as we shouted praises to our mighty God. This woman not only
heard and spoke but SANG out praises to God for the first time in her whole
life.
*One afternoon, we approached a man
lying on a cot in front of his house. He hadn’t walked for 4 years and simply
had a long stick next to his bed to help him sit up in bed and be transferred
into the house. GOD HEALED HIM. As
we’re praying, the man just threw down
his walking stick from the side of his bed and got up and walked back and
forth.
*We got the chance to pray for a
grandmother who pulled her entire family out of bed, even the little
grandchildren, for us to pray for them and share the Gospel. She is so eager
for her family to know Christ. It was amazing her faith.
*God captured the heart of a
political leader of the village along with his brother and his wife, along with
2 other women and another man in a different village to enter into a
relationship with Him and be there One and Only True God in a society and
culture full of numerous gods and idols. They were filled with joy and are so
eager to grow deep in relationship with God.
*Paralyzed arms and legs have
gained increased mobility
*Blindness in eyes cured
*demons cast out of people that had
been tormenting them for months or years and joy and hope restored back into
their lives.
*Countless stories of sicknesses
being cured, fevers breaking, body pains gone, and limps being realigned.
…there are sooo many more stories; I really can’t even begin
to tell. Praise the Lord. He is soooo good. All of this has just been so
mind-blowing for me as I stand amazed at who God is. God is so mighty and
powerful and majestic and wonderful and filled with love and passion and
jealousy for HIS CHILDREN.
If you want more stories or details or have any questions,
feel free to respond. I would absolutely LOVE hearing how you are and how I can
be praying for you.
