it’s been an eventful few weeks to say the very least. i think it’s probably time to catch you all up on what’s going on. so. here we go.
malaria.
that’s right, folks. the ‘laria came back. and this time it was in full-swing. i guess it’s been about three weeks now since i dealt with this little bout. after being sick for nearly a week i went to the emergency room when my fever spiked to 103. i was convinced it was malaria from the get-go but the doctors seemed to think it was just the flu. well, obviously they don’t see much malaria come through georgia. i had all kinds of blood tests and discovered that my little friend had indeed come back. apparently it’s just been sitting in my liver since africa [possibly asia] just waiting to have a party. and a party it had.

i was in the hospital for four days. the doctors had a hard time finding an antibiotic that wouldn’t make me sick. so between dealing with all of the side effects of the medicines on top of the actual symptoms of the malaria i was pretty much a mess. luckily, my dear friend and teammate from the race, stacy just happened to be in town on her way to help with world race training camp so she stayed by my side and took incredible care of me. i had so many visitors from my georgia family and i know there were people all over the world praying for me. thank you! i am feeling much better and choosing to believe that the malaria won’t be an issue again.
support.
i am in desperate need of support. you can read my latest newsletter for specifics. basically i need to raise $1,500 a month. i’m currently only raising about $300. without this support i don’t get a paycheck. if you have ever even considered giving to my ministry please, please, please do so. any amount would be so appreciated. i you have questions please contact me.
training camp.
after getting out of the hospital i stayed home for one day before heading off to world race training camp. we had 200 new racers who settled into the woods of georgia for ten days. these 200 world-changers make up three squads and a special 4-month race that will focus entirely on human-trafficking. they will all launch out of different places in january. camp for me was so incredibly refreshing and invigorating. it was a great reminder of why i do what i do. i send emails and project numbers to mobilize those 200 people. and many more to come. it was a blessing to be a part of such an amazing time of worship, ministry, training and equipping. you can be praying for all of the these new racers during their interim period before their launch.
stirred.
this past weekend we had a worship conference here in gainesville out at the aim office. jonathan david and melissa helser came out to lead worship and they rocked it. the lord showed up in so many amazing ways, i’m not sure i can even verbalize yet everything the lord did in me. k-squad was well-represented with over fifteen of us in town for the event. and it was an extra special weekend for me because my grandma flew in from missouri for the conference. it was so splendid to see her and spend some time with her in my new southern world.

and now. normal life carries on. i’m sitting on my couch, enjoying the solitude i haven’t been able to find in days, maybe weeks. it’s been nothing short of an incredible blessing to have so many of my favorite people around this month. but. i am ready for a break. my introverted self is coming out in full-force as i can feel myself wanting to be alone with nothing but my sewing machine and a good cup of coffee. stay tuned for an upcoming blog about all of the things the Lord has been stirring [no pun intended] in me. and with that. happy november, folks. happy november.
