for a few days now i’ve been trying to conjure up a blog about the men i’ve met on bangla road.
mostly i’ve been staring at a blank screen at a loss for words.

birkleigh and i hit the streets one night in hopes of getting a clear view of what the men on bangla road think and why they are here.  we interviewed a number of men downtown that night and i put a video together with some of the different responses we received.  i’m hoping it will make up for the words i can’t seem to find.

as you watch this video please remember that these men are his sons.  they are broken, confused, and lost.  they need someone to love them and tell them about jesus just as much as the women do.  ask the lord to help you see these men with his eyes and not your own.

my prayer is that a holy indignation would rise up inside of you.  that you would be so disgusted by the sin that you would be motivated into action.  i pray that love, compassion and grace would fill your hearts and that judgment of any kind would flee in the name of jesus.  i hope that you will see these men as children of God, trapped in a world of sin, desperate for a way out and that something deep within you would begin to surface as you realize mediocre, passive christianity just isn’t enough for you anymore.  i pray that you would pray the bold prayers and ask God to use you in extravagant ways.  i pray that your hearts would be broken for the downtrodden of this world and that you would have eyes of understanding for those who have been cast aside.

i pray that hope would permeate the places you step foot
as together we continue to bring light to the darkest of places
