Hello from Romania! The I Squad flew to Romania on Thursday after spending five days debriefing in Ireland. My team, Fuego, will be ministering with team Neon this month. We are staying in a small village called Villateche, which is a Gypsy community in Transylvania. We are staying with three different host families here. Tara, Tiffany, and I are staying with a family that has six children, two of which are still living at home. I am so excited to be able to live with a local family and learn about their traditions and culture. Some of the opportunities for ministry are at a local orphanage, in several churches, through a kid’s club, and in some construction projects for the people here. In addition, there are a myriad of opportunities to develop relationships with the local people here by spending time with them.

As far as the spiritual climate goes, Orthodox Christianity is the main religious practice in the area. Most of the people here believe that they can earn their salvation through good works. A personal relationship with Jesus is a rather foreign concept to most of them. This month we would greatly appreciate your joining with us in prayer as we focus on sharing Christ’s love with these beautiful people. Pray that God’s will is done and that people’s hearts are opened to Him. I have a feeling that it is going to be an interesting month!
