Hola from Guatemala!  My squad arrived in Guatemala City without any delays or difficulties on Sunday afternoon.  We then embarked on a three-hour bus ride to Lake Atitlan, where we are staying for the week.  This week is focused on launching my squad into ministry.  Several of the AIM staff are here to continue teaching and preparing us for the year ahead.  We have spent our afternoons exploring the city and practicing asking the Lord (we call it ATL).  God has also opened the door for for some great opportunities to minister to people here because my teammate, Tara, speaks Spanish.

God is also doing some serious work in my heart right now.  My prayer is that He would break my heart for the people here.  I have been especially touched by the women and children who walk the streets selling handmade crafts such as jewelry, bracelets, and scarves.  They are so precious to God, and I am trying to learn how to share His love with them in a way that they will understand.  I would so appreciate your prayers for discernment of God’s voice and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit’s leading this week as we continue to be available to God’s working.  Below are a few pictures of our first few days.
