It’s your birthday, and today, I celebrate you :]

On this day last year I was sitting with you and your fam jam watching home videos and giggling over all your cuteness. Kinda like this precious jem…look at all that trendy swag ;]

And this year, I’m sitting in Antigua, Guatemala sending buckets of love and well wishes your way. Here’s to 22 years of life and to many, many more.

I missed out on sharing my favorite memories of you this year at your birthday dinner, so here’s just a few I’ve been thinking about. Like, celebrating your 21st birthday last year in Alexandria. That was probably the most nerve-wracking drive I’ve ever made. Or, hiking up Elliot’s Knob with my daddy as you literally pushed me up the last 1/4 of the trail. It was then that I knew you’d always have my back ;] Or, making dinner with you – anytime really. It’s always the biggest ordeal, consisting of looking up recipes we never end up using. Eventually we just drive to the grocery store and pick up something random. Or even allllll the way back to OCMD ’09, when we sat on the bumper of my car and discussed the meanings of relationships and you ate Cheez-Its like it was your job. And of course going on that random excursion with my bible study girls to look at Christmas lights which ended in Krispy Kreme goodness and you falling in love with me ;] And of course all the pinkberry we consumed in those short 5 months. However, one of my favorite memories is making wedding gifts for our friends last summer. And, setting up all my gear before I headed off to training camp in July. Especially when you gave me a concussion from dropping me on my head in my sleeping bag.

I could probably go on forever, but more than anything, I hope you feel super loved today. I’m so thankful for your life and the way that God has so intricately aligned our paths in such a unique and awesome way. I’m thankful for your servant heart, your gentle spirit, and great listening ears ;] You’re a man of great wisdom, encouragement, and selflessness.

Happy Birthday my love! Perhaps next year, I’ll celebrate with you in real life ;]

The last day I saw you in real life, but I'll be seeing you soon in 63 short days :]

I made you this video :] Kip and I began pulling it together the day before my birthday. I was a little afraid that you’d make me a stop motion for my birthday, and when you mentioned how you had thought about it, my heart sank. Thankfully you didn’t ;] I hope you enjoy it! I love you!
