My favourite day on the race consisted of us meeting a wonderful family
They are a family that is dear to my heart
They are world changers
They are story tellers
They are encouragers
They are Always looking to take God out of the box !
My team and I got to meet them in July during our time in Malaysia .
We were invited to their house for a Pakistani meal, if you’ve never had Pakistani food
please go try some now! It’s delicious. You might also want to ask for it on the less
spicy side. I might have enjoyed the yogurt sauce too much for it’s cooling effect haha.
During our time with them they shared story after story about how faithful God is. You
see this family isn’t from Malaysia they are from Pakistan.
They came because it was no longer safe for them at home .
The father Was being threatened by his Muslim coworkers to convert. When he refused
and stayed true to his faith he was beaten with rods by a group of extremists. They
thought he was dead so they left him there.
Little did they know God had much more planned for him .
He survived the attack and they moved to the village they grew up in and they stayed
with family . After some time he went and got a job , during his first day the group
found him and kidnapped him, the family heard nothing from him for three days until
they got a call that said “convert or he will die.”
They continued to believe that Jesus would save them!
During the time that he was kidnapped the rest of the family had to hide often
covering their faces like Muslim women, and any time they were spotted God
protected them, he always gave them a way out .
2 years later she received a call from her husband, he escaped !
5 years ago they found refuge in Malaysia , here they are not persecuted for their faith
they are however still in danger. They are not able to get medical care and if the police
pull them over they have to pay large fees or go to jail, employers also take advantage
because they know they cannot go to the police.
Yes it is safer than they were in Pakistan but it is not their final destination .
After much prayer ( they are true prayer warriors !) they have come to the conclusion
that Canada is the home God is calling them to . In Canada they want to serve, they
want to share what The Lord has done in their life with everyone . And I want them to
get a chance to share because I know their story has forever changed my life .
While we were at their house we saw their vision board of Canada. On it was the
Canadian flag of course and the amount of time it takes to fly from Kuala Lumpur to
Toronto Ontario !
They shared stories of how they have started buying winter jackets to prepare for the
snow and other necessities !
The other day I got a mesage that they all went out and bought suitcases !
They are planning a move all on faith.
—————————————————————————–
At the moment they do not have a host family or church to stay with
They have a YES in their spirit but are waiting for it all to happen
What I need is for you to pray for this wonderful family.
Pray that God would stir in an individuals heart or a church’s heart to sponsor them
and help them get on their feet in Canada by November 15th,2016
Pray that God would continue to keep them safe and healthy while in Malaysia
Pray that they would continue to push the limits on what God can do.
So myself, My team and the family are asking you to simply pray because that simple act changes atmospheres. It changes lives
“Bold prayers honor God, and God honors bold prayers. God isn’t offended by your biggest dreams or boldest prayers. He is offended by anything less.”circle maker
So Let’s ask and see what God can do if you ask and believe for big things. He’s a big
God and he wants us to ask for more .
Will you help me in sharing their story with friend and family. Let’s get them to Canada for a snow filled Christmas!
