For our last week in Madagascar we drove up to. We spent 8 days with Marie and her husband , they run a great program in a very remote little town . They help employ women and show them how to make purses, blankets, ornaments and so many other beautiful things. They run a preschool for the children, a feeding program , evangelism around the surrounding neighbourhood ,and carpentry .

Our first day of ministry consisted of a 2 hour hike/walk through slippery hills, mud puddles, a ride in a canoe and bridges made out of twigs. It was quite the adventure ! We then taught the children in the village about our father and what the meaning of Easter was . We sang songs, played games and had fun . Then we did the whole hike all over again ! Needless to say I took a nap at 5 and never woke up for diner at 6 , instead I woke up at 7 am the next day feeling like a new person !Did I mention I forgot my sunscreen ? Oooops

The days that followed consisted of baking , making a volleyball net for the family fun day , a sunrise church service, Holy Spirit night , swimming lessons with the kids in the lake, s’mores and worship at the fire ,praying with the locals , thunderstorms almost every night ,24/7 prayer tent and so much more . I loved having fresh air and places to hide away and seek The Lord . The quiet was such a gift .

I love the prayer tent that was made , there was always someone in there seeking God , or was amazing . My favourite time in there was spent just sitting with God , not bringing my request to him about how he needs to change people or myself, or how I’m upset about this or that . Instead it was 3 hours of worship , it was wonderful because in that time he was able to do more than he ever could when I could never shut up and stop asking questions . Because I listened he answered in amazing ways . This is something I’m hopeful we can do again as a squad . Great idea Kevin !
I think that was the perfect way to end our stay in Madagascar !
