I´ve been in Peru for a week and a half now and it has been great. We are staying at a soon-to-be childrens home. For the first time in a month, we have nice warm beds, hot showers, clean running water, and a washing machine. Praise Jesus!
The work we are doing is helping build the childrens home. One of the buildings is complete. We are painting bars for the cafeteria, pouring concrete for the water fountains, and leveling moving sand in wheel barrows, so they can put in bleachers for the soccer field. It´s a good way to build muscles!!
We are also living with another team, so there are 13 of us. We plan our meals with the other team, as well as our internet days (each team gets one day because of our work schedule) and laundry days. It´s difficult sometimes but it works.
Every thursday. friday and saturday, we get to play with kids from the community. Saturdays, we do what they call the "Garbage Dump Ministry". We visit the garbage to witness to those who live there as well as play with the kids there. It´s heart breaking.
All in all, I´m having a blast! I love the food. Living in the desert is all that bad and the weather is nice. Please continue to pray for my team as well as the other team, as some are sick. Please, aslo, to continue to pray for my support raising. I´m getting there. Thank you to everyone for reading my blog. Blessings to all!!
