I honestly cannot believe this is my life and I get to
encounter such amazing, life-changing events. My team and I have been working
with a ministry that owns a couple restaurants and they run their ministry
through it. We’ve been able to help out by serving in the restaurants every
day. Here is a glance at what else I’ve been doing this month in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia…

  1. Opened
up an American style restaurant. Me and a couple teammates even got to do
some interior decorating. It’s been fun to walk into work and be
    surrounded by pictures from “home”.
  2. I’ve
been working on my restaurant serving skills. Thanks to much grace and
tolerance I was not fired after my first day. And I’ve only broken one
plate. PTL. Mom, I’ve been offered a job here post World Race. I may not
    ever go home…
  3. Made
my first ever tip from waitressing. I only mention this because it is not
of Malaysian culture to tip so if you get one it’s a big deal. So that was
    exciting.
  4. Served
chicken, rice, and tea to over 100 street people in the pouring down rain.
Thank God for tents even though the weight of the rain collapsed some of
    the roof.
  5. Ate
chicken curry, rice, and tortoise soup prepared by tribal village people
in the middle of the jungle. The best part? Getting to eat it all by hand!
  6. Did
some street ministry that consisted of walking through a market talking
with people and seeing if they needed prayer. Got to talk with one man
about the Hindu religion. Very interesting.
  7. Gave
my first ever adult sermon to about 15 tribal people that had to be interpreted
into Malay. Spoke on God’s love for us. Surprisingly fun if I’m being honest.
  8. Literally
got attacked by monkeys at a Hindu temple with my teammates.
  9. As a
team, we led a Burmese Refugee school of children crammed in a very small
room in worship songs. Then we got to give words of encouragement. And I
fine tuned my amazing jump roping skills!
  10. Participated
in more prostitute ministry prayer walks. Watched a man and possible
prostitute check into a hotel from across the street.
