Usually I would use this kind of title as a joke in order to grab peoples’ attention, but this time, I’m not joking. I really am going home. Don’t worry, I didn’t get in trouble and I don’t have malaria. As anyone can probably see from some of my previous blogs, my health has been a central issue on my race so I am taking the opportunity to go home for a couple of weeks for treatment.
While I am really excited about being able to take time to really focus on improving my health, I couldn’t help but feel that the timing is chaotic. The exact day that I am scheduled to return to the World Race is my final deadline for fundraising… And I still need $3,617.29 before I’m fully funded.
So this is exactly the situation I knew I would find myself in from the beginning of my race. Having to take a BIG leap of faith and wait for God to show up. And wait…and wait…
Because the issue is:
1. Adventures in Missions cannot pay for my expenses to go home, and…
2. The only money I have left (after budgeting for the next 5 months of my race) is money I need to start paying on my student loans in May.
So here I am, once again in a situation where, according to the world's standards, I look stupid for spending this money. However, because I believe that God has provided me this opportunity to focus on my health, I also have complete faith that He will provide a way for me to have the money to be able to make my loan payments starting in May.
I might have had a rough beginning to my race, but this has only given me more faith that the World Race is exactly where God needs me to be. I am taking this time to focus on finding rest and health in Him, only to be ready to go back out to the nations to be His hands and feet.
But I need your help. If God has laid it on your heart to support me in this journey, please support me in any way that is possible for you. Right now, I am in need of:
–Prayer: that I would be grateful for this time and use it wisely to get healthy and well rested, and that I would stay confident in God's will and be able to recognize opposition to this.
–Donations: I still need $3,617.29 to be fully funded to continue my race and $1,450.00 for my expenses to go home in order to reimburse my personal budget.
If you would like to support my race, thank you so much ahead of time and please click on the support me link to the left of my blog. If you would like to support me by helping me pay for the expenses for me to come home, please contact me at [email protected]
Thanks for reading my blog and supporting me!
Continue to pray and help send me back to the World Race!
