When I posted a Facebook status last month asking if anyone knew of missionaries in Peru, I never expected the Lord to provide three answers to prayer, a home-cooked meal, and an incredible testimony all in one family.
I would like to introduce you to Kenneth, Letty, Hannah, Sarah and Josiah. They are a family who follows the Lord in obedience, even when it means uprooting their life in the States to follow Him to Cusco, Peru!

About six years ago, a friend of Ken and Letty’s asked them to take over his coffee shop business and ministry in Cusco. Their initial response was understandable: “Yeah right!” However, this friend was more stubborn than that, and he made them promise to pray about. So, that’s what they did. After asking God about this opportunity and speaking to their pastor (whose response was, “Of course you should go!”), they found themselves stepping into the life of missionaries in Peru. They served for a time at their friend’s coffee shop, but the Lord soon closed that door.
For a period of time, they were unsure what to do. They did not sense the Lord calling them to leave Peru, but He had closed the doors of the ministry they came here to do. In faith, they stayed put, struggling to discover their purpose.
Eventually, the Lord prompted someone to inform Ken that it was time he plant a church in Cusco. A team came from Lima to help, and the ensuing week was full of talking to strangers, inviting them to church, and preaching. In January of 2014, the Dujays discovered a small building to rent and began hosting a Bible study and outreach there. About a year ago, they rented a second building from the same landlady and have a dream of opening a coffee shop in the church in order to bring in more funds.
Ken and his family opened their church to us for the last week of our time in Peru for free. I am not sure they realize how deeply they blessed us in doing this. We had the opportunity to join them in doing children’s ministry, which they do on Saturdays in the hopes of reaching more families. We also had the unique opportunity to celebrate their church’s Second Anniversary! I got to hear their heart for building relationships and discipling the locals, and sharing the Word of God on a verse-by-verse basis in order to be faithful to His truth. They welcomed us warmly into their home for a rare home-cooked meal, and even shared their love story with us.
The Dujays are doing God’s work in Cusco, Peru. Not only was it a blessing to get to know people who speak English, but it was so encouraging to spend time with a family who has followed the Lord in obedience and is continuing to seek Him even when things get hard. They certainly have not had the easiest time here in Peru, but they are being faithful.
My time on the Race is coming to a close; I have less than two months left on the field. I have SO appreciated all of your prayer and financial support while I have been gone. If any of you are interested in continuing to support missionaries for God’s Kingdom in these ways beyond my trip, I strongly encourage you to consider supporting the Dujay family. They are bringing the Gospel to Cusco and are an amazing family. I have included their information below in case you would like to get in touch with them!
Your Sister, Ash
