From where I stand I can feel the many fingers of little children as they fight to grasp my hands, arms, and any part of my body they can get a grip on. I can hear the many cries of "Muzunga!" as we drive slowly through the bumpy streets of our neighborhood. I can see, with wonderful amazement, the beautiful people of a culture that is brand new to me, where love is showered on strangers and smiles are never far from the surface. This is Kigali, Rwanda which is home to Successful Christian Ministry.

Coming to a new continent was a little terrifying. Unlike several people on my squad I have never been to Africa. Honestly, I was a little intimidated. So I started to prepare myself. I made myself excited to sleep in a tent in the bush of Africa. I got excited about spending a month bathing in a river and all the fun stuff that comes with living in the wilderness. So you can only imagine my disappointment when our contacts, Pastor Venna and Pastor Innocent, showed us to our new home. By home I mean a house, with mattresses and meals cooked for us, constant snacks and tea and a western toilet and shower. Yeah, I was sooooo disappointed.

So Venna and Innocent are absolutely beautiful people. They own and run Successful Christian Ministry, each has their own church, and also run Successful Christian Academy next to our house. They are all about spreading the gospel and helping the children here get an education. So we have the privilege of preaching at each church and teaching these wonderful children during the week. We've had the opportunity to meet some amazing men and women of God by traveling to both the churches.

So one thing that I want  to share with you is something that Venna and Innocent have asked for our help on. The children at Successful Christian Academy have a fee of $300 per year that covers materials, books, food, etc. A number of children at the school are not not sponsored to attend school and their funds have been coming out of the ministry. We are trying very hard to get these 30 kids sponsored for their next school year. So far we already have ten wonderful people who are volunteering to send a child to school next year. If you're interested in sponsoring a child please write me an email and let me know. I can send you a picture of the beautiful student. [email protected]

So with that the only challenge I have for you is to pray about sponsoring a child. That's all I ask.

So the number is shrinking!! I only have $2,673.63 to go until I am fully funded! Once again, please prayerfully consider donating. Anything is greatly appreciated!
