Imagine with me a kingdom. Not an ordinary kingdom though, with a big stone castle surrounded by a village of renaissance dressed people with blacksmiths and bakeries. No, this kingdom is magnificent. Its castle is made of the clearest of diamond, casting off a brilliance of rainbow colors in the sun that never fails to shine. The gates to the castle are always open to a beautiful people, each one emitting a glorious glow on everything they touch. The animals even seem to move with a more abundant grace through the people they are not in the slightest afraid of. Smiles are as common as the air, and laughter is from the purest form of joy. These people, this kingdom, keeps a grand treasure. This treasure is the holder of peace and bliss in the territory. The king lavishes the gifts of this fortune on all the land, never taking its virtue for granted. But this alluring treasure was stolen, and its power was corrupted by the hands of those not capable of understanding its goodness. It's been misused and perverted for the advantage of a darker kingdom, one of the world and of the flesh.

Back to reality, please, and this radiant kingdom I am speaking of is the Kingdom of God, and the treasure, love.
By getting to know my Father I have become more acquainted with love. I'm talking about the real version of love, the Biblical version. The love that came from a God creating us and a pure Son dying for a people's filth. It's a love that wants growth for our brothers and sisters in Christ. A love that is patiently waiting for what God has for us. It's showing kindness to the least of these, not judging, always helping, and always praying. It's unfailing, never conditional, and full of truth.
But that's not what the world has made it out to be. It's become unprincipled. The world sees love as ignoring someone's transgressions to save their feelings or show "support" for an ungodly lifestyle. It's become a justification for having sex with a boyfriend or girlfriend. It's become a word that men and women are terrified of because it's been used and abused.
It's vital we take back love for the Kingdom. It's up to us to show the world that love is not overlooking disobedience and sin in someone's life, but at the same time is not judging of a brother or sister's imperfection. It's offering correction to see the growth they need and to usher them closer to the Kingdom. It's waiting patiently for the person God hand-made for us, because that will be the purest love. It's not a love based on whether or not you are fooling around and hooking up. It's not a love that goes away because someone screws up. And it definitely is not something to fear!
Love is our most prized possession. It's the greatest gift we can give the world and it's abundant and free, you just have to get past the crap covered part of it and down to the immaculate heart of the word. God created love, because He IS love. And as Kingdom-bringers it's up to us to get it back and clean it up. I promise you, it's worth fighting for.
