For those of you who do not already know me, my name is Ashley Ancona.  I am a Senior at Bethel University.  This May I will be graduating with a double major in Computer Science and Business Entrepreneurship.

I’ve always thought that photos are the best way to share a story, so to share a little more about myself I thought I would show you all some photos.

This here is my wonderful family.  My parents Tim and Karen and my younger brothers Justin (20) and Brandon (17).  It will be hard to leave them behind for a 11 months, but they have all been extremely supportive in my decision.

This here is what I love to do for fun…RUN!!  I ran the Twin Cities marathon over a year ago, which is when I fell in love with running.  Since then I joined Bethel’s Cross Country and Track teams.  Running has become my “quiet place”, the place where I go to spend time with the Lord.  I can’t wait to be able to go on some exploratory runs abroad (with a buddy of course!).

My senior year of high school I went on my first mission trip with my family to the Dominican Republic.  We went with an organization called Mission Emanuel.  Since then God has given me a heart for missions.  Even though I had never heard of World Race at that time, I am sure God was already beginning to plant the seed to prepare for my upcoming journey.  Below is a picture of some of our close friends in the village of Cielo after we painted all of their nails.
