Before I left to come home from the race one of my squad leaders told me to remember that even though I am home I am still on the race. It just looks different. Now that I am able to walk and drive I have been thinking about how I can serve people here in columbus.
i started by searching online for places in the community where I could volunteer. Well they wanted at least 6 weeks of dedication or they were jobs that I couldn’t do yet. So then I started to search for baby sitting jobs. But then quickly realized I couldn’t do that either. I was getting very discourage.
A couple of days went by and it was still on my mind that my whole team was serving but I wasn’t. I felt like that ment I wasn’t holding up my end of the race. i decided to pray for God to start opening up ways for me to serve my community
A week went by and still no events came up that I could help out with. So back to praying I went and that’s when God gave me my “ah ha” moment.
I don’t have to be on a mission trip or with a local community center to serve people. I can do that to my family and friends. I can go out of my way to show them jesus love. No, it’s not the same as it would be on the race but it’s just as good and fruitful!
i once read a quote that said “you can’t change the world, it’s to big. But you can change YOUR world!”
