We have finally hit our fourth and final continent- CENTRAL AMERICA
HONDURAS
NICARAGUA
COSTA RICA
We have 3 months left on the Race and they are going to be awesome! God is going to do SO MUCH!
Aaaannnnnd,
We get to start the first month off with
PVT (Parent Vision Trip)
**This is a week that the parents of the racers can join the squad in the field and do ministry alongside their child.**
Last month, we were told that those of us that didn’t have parents coming would not be able to see any of the parents.
They said that it wouldn’t work logistically, the parents are staying with their racers at a ministry site hours away from the rest. We were flying into Honduras a day before the parents needed to be at PVT.
Well, I prayed that God would let me see the parents. I specfically prayed to see Mama Angie- Caitlin’s mom. She has supported me, prayed for me, and messaged with me for the seven months that Burning Joy/TLC was together. I already love her soo much! These parents are my family. The family of the racers on my squad are my family. I have relationships with these people. I have new family across the entire United States and I have family in Canada. 🙂
Anyways, we fly into the capital on May 3rd. We get to see a bunch of the parents because some have come a day early into the country! It was so Awesome!!
Simone actually got to fly into Honduras in the seat next to her father!! THAT was really cool. Totally unexpected too.
I loved being able to see a lot of the parents! Mama Angie was not there, but God still let me see parents! 🙂
After standing in line forever, it seemed, to pass customs into the country, we waited to get our backpacks. We waited and then waited some more.
I actually turned to Martha and said, “Plot twist! We don’t get luggage this month, they don’t have it.”
Buuuuttttt,
right after I said that, I turned around, and a squad leader said that they lost our luggage. They left our luggage in Miami.
Ooooops.
So, the next day we need to come back and get our luggage.
So, I get to come back the next day. I don’t think the odds are very high that we will see any parents that day. I’m also not very concerned about that- I was just pretty concerned about our bags.
We get to the airport and we don’t see any other Americans. I’m praying that our things are found.
And
They are there!!
I was super pleased and we started getting the bags separated. While we were doing that, Mama K (Katy’s mom) leans over the balcony upstairs and yells at us. All of the parents are upstairs! I had brought a computer from Anna to give to one of the parents to take home, so I was interested in finding Kathy’s parents. I was talking to Mr. Woods when all of the sudden girls start yelling. I look and it’s Werness and Martha yelling-
MAMA ANGIE had just come downstairs!!!!
I ran over to them (I ran out on talking with Mr. Woods- I am so sorry) and we just hugged and talked. Asia was actually upstairs. She had come back for her groups bags. So, almost all of TLC got to see her in the airport! It was surreal!
It was crazy awesome seeing everyone!
I may or may not have cried. (Both days that we got to see parents)
I am so thankful that our bags got misplaced!
I am so thankful that I got to see my family!
I am so thankful that God answered my prayer with a yes!
#ThanksGod
