Fundraising is scary. It’s a fact.
Asking for help? scary.
Asking for money/donations? scary.
Realizing you can’t do something alone? scary.
Telling other people you can’t do something alone? even scarier.
By posting this blog, I’m not saying that I am over being scared. I’m not fearless. I am still scared. I’m merely pushing my nervousness aside. Honestly, I am super uncomfortable asking people to help me and I am super uncomfortable writing this blog post. But I’m about to spend 11 months not being comfortable. God has called me into this new chapter of life and being uncomfortable is not just for when I am on the Race. He has not placed us here on earth to be comfortable. We are on earth to tell others about our KING, to advance His kingdom, to make a difference for Christ. God has shown me recently, that this whole time period before and during the Race is my trip- my journey. The journey HE has called me to make and my journey is not going to be comfortable.
I need to raise $16,255 for the race. That amount includes pretty much everything except my camping equipment. I currently have $800 in my World Race account.
The World Race has set up a couple deadline dates.
$3,500 is due in my account by July 5th.
$7,500 is due in my account by August 18th.
$11,000 is due in my account by December 1st.
$16,255 is due in my account by March 1, 2015.
I would love for each of you to please, please PRAY and actively listen to what God would want you to do. I KNOW that it IS God’s will for me to go on the Race. I KNOW that He is going to bring the finances in. I KNOW that He is going to use YOU to help accomplish His will.
WE are God’s people. WE have been commissioned by God to spread His name, advance His kingdom. God has given us all a purpose and a specific calling in completing that purpose. He has called some to GO and some He has called to GIVE.
