Alright friends, family, acquaintances- It’s time for me to explain this up coming chapter in my life.
It seems like EVERY DAY, no joke, I run into people (whom I would think already know) that don’t know what I’m doing. The Amazing Race? A sightseeing getaway? A short mission trip? I am actually really not okay with not having taken time to talk to all my loved ones and friends personally to tell them about this trip. I don’t think I’ve gone about it the correct way and for that I’m feeling convicted and I apologize.
**Let me say, that if ANYONE would like to have me talk to them more about the trip, just let me know. I would love to talk about what God is doing in my life!**
I am going on the World Race. The World Race is an 11 month mission trip to 11 different countries.
Thailand. Cambodia. Vietnam. Botswana. Swaziland. South Africa. Turkey. Albania. Honduras. Nicaragua. Costa Rica.
The World Race is with Adventures in Missions: they are an interdenominational mission board founded in 1989. They’ve sent out over 100,000 racers since 2006. The World Race “is a journey to 11 countries in 11 months to serve ‘the least of these’ while amongst real and raw community.” We will be evangelizing, doing life with and loving on these people. We will be showing God’s love and do kingdom work.
I do not know specifically what I am going to be doing. My squad (the group of 40-50 people that will go to the same countries), L squad, will split into teams of 6-7 once we get to the country. The first one is Thailand. So, when we get there, we will help different ministries that are in said country. That being said, I could be working with a sex trafficking ministry in Thailand or at an orphanage in Albania. The possibilities are endless!
I will be living out of a backpack. Yes, I did type that correctly. I will be living for 11 months from a backpack. I will sleep on a sleeping pad. I will be living out of a tent. I will be taking showers in watering holes.
