My name is Ashleigh Schneider, sometimes Ashley, (long story, we will get into that later), and I’m honestly pretty nervous about joining this new trend of “blogging”. I don’t know how it’s going to go, but no matter what I’m going to make one promise: I am going to be open, honest, and sincere when sharing my story, my heart, and my journey in each and every post. I will always give you my authentic self. So here’s a little bit about me (although it is really my goal to make it more about Jesus and less about me, you might need to know who I am for us to progress)

I grew up in Lafayette, Louisiana. A small town in South Louisiana where there is plenty of crawfish and humidity for us all. I have a wonderful family and wonderful friends that bless me in more ways than I can count. But there is one person to share a little more about: my mom. My mom is my hero and my best friend. Through her, I get a little glimpse of who God is. Her constant display of unconditional love helps me understand what God means when He says in Luke 12:7, “But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.” The importance of my family’s love [my mom, dad, younger brother, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins] has guided me through the ups and downs of life and molded me into the person I am today.

Moving into some deeper details: My personal walk with God, as far back as I can remember, began when we moved from Houston to Lafayette when I was six. In Lafayette, I attended Catholic school from kindergarten until I graduated high school where I was forced to study God, about who He is, how He has historically presented Himself, how He is understood, and how this all impacts our lives today. I was challenged to pray – to develop a personal and unique relationship with my creator. And through this relationship, I was given opportunities to minister to others. All of these experiences helped me grow, and when challenges arose, I knew my only hope was to turn to God. There have been many, many challenges and lots of mistakes made along the way, but the good news is, I’ve made it all the way here!

So today, I am currently a student at Southern Methodist University in Dallas and will be graduating in December 2014. I am majoring in Psychology with minors in Sociology and Women’s and Gender Studies. So basically, I love people. And I love Jesus. And I love helping people discover Jesus. I love quotes. I love quotes about Jesus and about love and about virtues. I love my friends and my family, and I want to spread that love all over the world. I want to experience the vastness of the world while helping those in need.

That’s why, in January 2015, I will be going on the World Race. I hope that you’ll journey with me. I hope that through my blog and through your prayer and support, I can be a blessing to you because in the end, it’s not about me. It’s about the power, majesty, grace, abundance, and love of God that will transform lives.   And I can’t wait for what He has in store.

I love ya’ll
